A Philadelphia woman is being hailed as a modern day Good Samaritan.

Tameka Bates was riding the subway when she noticed a man harassing a young woman and her infant on the train.

Bates said she and the young mom both got on the train at the same stop. She noticed the man following the woman as she sat down.

The man, whom the mother did not know, proceeded toward the woman, asking to see the baby. When the woman said no, he then tried to hit the baby.

Subway surveillance video shows Bates protecting the mother and child by standing between them and the assailant. She also escorted the young mother away from the man.

Bates who is a Christian and a minister at Resurrection Evangelistic Church, boldy used the name of Jesus as a weapon against the man.

"I said, 'Satan, the Lord God rebuke you in the name of Jesus. You will not touch this woman,'" she told a local TV station.

Bates said the woman broke down crying as she escorted her off the train.

Thanks to Bates, the mom and baby were unharmed.
