Obamacare has hit another snag, and the new problems could jeopardize coverage for millions of people under the health care law.

A government watchdog report says there are still problems with personal information for many people who have signed up for insurance under Obamacare.

The inspector general for the Department of Health and Human Services found that key personal details, like annual income and citizenship, submitted by many people don't match the records the government has on file.

The issue could turn into another Obamacare political headache for the White House.

The report found shortcomings in the internal safeguards used by the federal insurance exchange and some state marketplaces to check the accuracy of consumer information.

It says the administration was unable to resolve 2.6 million so-called "inconsistencies" out of a total of 2.9 million such problems from October through December 2013.

The inspector general found that, early on, the government's eligibility system was "not fully operational." As a consequence, even if a consumer supplied the appropriate documentation, officials were not able to close the case.
