The Justice Department plans to refocus it's fight against home-grown terrorism, calling it an "escalating danger."

With more than two dozen domestic incidents since the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, Attorney General Eric Holder said it's time to revisit the home-grown threat.

He is reviving a special task force originally established after the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995.

The homegrown threat is an issue New York City officials have already been dealing with for years.

"Homegrown is the biggest problem we face right now. (we're) trying to figure out how this radicalization is happening here in this country," New York City Councilman Peter Vallone told CBN News. "Why does somebody that grows up in Queens decide he wants to grow up and kill Queens residents?"

The new task force will be made up of leaders from the FBI, the Justice Department's National Security Division, and U.S. attorneys.
