Pro-life supporters are celebrating after the North Dakota Supreme Court bans a drug used to perform abortions.

The court upheld a 2011 state law that limits the use of drugs to terminate pregnancies.

The Center for Reproductive Rights had challenged the law in court by saying it illegally restricts abortion rights.

North Dakota is known for its support of pro-life legislation.

There is only one abortion clinic in the state, which performs about 1,300 abortions each year.
