Boy's 'Sparrow' Video Still Inspires Singing Careers

More than a million people have paused to view a 20-year-old video of a young Bryan Andrew Wilson belting out the tune, "His Eye Is On The Sparrow."

Wilson was only 10 years old at the time, singing in his first recording with the Mississippi Children's Mass Choir.

He spoke with CBN News about his memories of that day.

"I remember the moment. I remember putting the bow tie on, the cumberbun. Picking my box [haircut]," he said.

"I remember my older brother, Aaron Wilson, came to me and said, 'Bryan, after tonight people are going to want to sing like you'."

That was a difficult message for the child who grew up often singing to blades of grass for his audience.

At 10, he simply had no idea his childhood recording would lead to a gospel music career that has spanned decades. But he admits he does come from a musical family.

His mom, Sheila Wilson, was a church choir director and his grandfather sang with blues legend B.B. King.

Bryan, who is also now pastor in the Washington, D.C.-area, has plans to use what he has learned in music to groom others to record, including his mother.
