A former Georgia police investigator said he was forced out of his job for refusing to stop ministering to inmates during his time off.

Once a month, Cartersville officer David Bojczuk and other fellow officers visited the Bartow County jail to pray and read the Bible to prisoners who expressed interest.

Bojczuk, a father of eight, said he'd been praying with the inmates for a year and never had any problems.

He said the police chief called their actions "a conflict of interest" and orderd them to stop praying with inmates at the jail or risk losing their jobs.

Several officers who participated in the monthly jail ministry agreed to stop.

On April 17, Bojczuk resigned from the police force. Officer Amanda Pettpher also resigned as part of the conflict.

When asked about legal recourse, he said after praying about the issue, he didn't feel like he should file a lawsuit against the police deparment.

CBN News contacted the Cartersville Police Department for comment and was only told that the officers left their jobs voluntarily.

CBN News Senior Reporter George Thomas spoke with David Bojczuk about the impact of his ministry on the lives of the inmates and how God is miraculously providing for his family. Click play to watch.
