The man that carried out a shooting spree in a Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic made remarks to police about "no more baby body parts" during his arrest.

Law enforcement officials could not elaborate and remain unsure of the motive of Robert Dear Lewis, 57, who killed three people, including one police officer during a shooting rampage Friday.

Planned Parenthood cited witnesses as sayng the gunman was motivated by his opposition to abortion.

Dear's comment to investigators highlights the ongoing debate over whether Planned Parenthood harvests and sells baby body parts.

In July, the Center for Medical Progess released a series of videos showing Planned Parenthood personel negotiationg the sale of fetal organs.

Planned Parenthood has denied seeking any payments beyond what is legally permited for donating organs to researchers.

The Center for Medical Progress has denounced the "barbaric killing spree in Colorado Springs by a violent madman" and offered prayers for the families of those who were killed and wounded.

Dear is in custody and is expected to make his first court appearance on Monday.
