Record labels release new music each Friday. And this week, a new Motown Gospel artist is being called "the guy who is bringing back soul."

Royce Lovett is an up-and-coming singer and songwriter who recently signed with the legendary Motown label, but only after months of serious prayer.

Lovett spoke with CBN News for a preview of his new project, "Write It On The Wall."

He is a Florida native, young husband and father who plays drums, guitar, base and keyboard.

He used those skills to record five independent projects before signing his record deal.

Lovett is excited about this new chapter in his music career, but only because it's a fruit of his obedience to the voice of God.

He told CBN News his "bottom line is doing what God wants."
