Under The Radar: His Bucket List Is Full of Miracles

Remember the 2007 movie "The Bucket List?" Two men learn they only have a few months to live so they decide to go out and enjoy the time they have left.

Their story reminds me of my new friend, R.B. Marrow.

R.B. suffers from Parkinson's disease.

"The doctors had given me about five years of reasonable life a couple of years ago, so I'm looking at three more years, by the doctor's opinion, three more years of life and function and (being able) to take care of myself," R.B. said.

Parkinson's is slowly robbing him of the ability to walk, talk, and perform ordinary, everyday functions.

"My muscles get really tired very quickly and I can't walk very far," he said. "My spine and my back hurts real bad and every day I have to spend time in a therapy chair in the morning and afternoon and take lots of different medicines."

Despite all that, R.B. decided to make a missions trip to Ecuador, where God touched him in a special way.

"When I've been down here we work harder than I've ever worked in my life, running up and down these hills and talking to these people," he explained.

"We work from very early to very late and I have had no problem from my Parkinson's," he said. "God is just -- He gave my body so much strength and gave my body the ability to do this, it's just a miracle."

R.B. describes how he became part of someone else's miracle: A lady who couldn't get out of bed because of a growth in her abdomen.

"She had a tumor that was so big we thought she was pregnant," he said.

After the team prayed for her, she got up and went to Bible class.

"Theres no way she could have got up and walked down the mountain and all the way to our discipleship class if God didn't touch her, if God didn't heal her," he said.

That experience gave R.B. new hope for fighting his Parkinson's.

"I'm gonna do everything I can, as long as I can. I'm going to serve in every way," he said. "And I believe that's the thing that's gonna keep me healed and keep me going is that as I keep giving myself to others, God will keep healing me and delivering me."

Now, he shares this message with others facing difficult circimstances.

"The kindgom of heaven is about selflessness, the kingdom of hell is about selfishness. If you can keep selfless, God can keep you going and God will give you strength."

So, if you don't know what to do or where to turn, take a tip from R.B. bucket list and find freedom by serving others.
