The Rev. Franklin Graham says that prayer is critical for Naghmeh and Saeed Abedini as they deal with marital issues.

"Clearly, there is a great need for prayer for their relationship and their family," Graham wrote in a Facebook post earlier this week. "We now lift him and his wife Naghmeh to the Lord for healing in their marriage", he added.

Saeed spent several days at the Billy Graham Center in Asheville, North Carolina following his release from an Iraninan prison. It was there that  he reunited with friends and family after three and a half years.

Saeed made his way home to Boise, Idaho to meet with his children, earlier this week and during this time Naghmeh reportedly filed papers for a legal separation from her husband, citing maritial abuse.

On a Facebook post she writes, "I do deeply regret that I hid from the public the abuse that I have lived with for most of our marriage and I ask your forgiveness. I sincerely had hoped that this horrible situation Saeed has had to go through would bring about the spiritual change needed in both of us to bring healing to our marriage."

"Other than God, no one knows the details and the truth of what has happened between Saeed and Naghmeh except them," Graham said.

Graham said that although we celebrate Saeed's return that prayer and support should not stop now.

"As a minister of the Gospel, I have tried to be a friend to both and to assist them in getting Saeed home and in getting access to any help that they may need," he said.

"God has answered prayer by bringing about Saeed's release from prison, and now, Satan would like nothing more than to continue to destroy their lives. It is my prayer that this will not happen."
