Hundreds of fans and friends attended a public memorial service Sunday for country music singer Joey Feek.

It was hosted by Gospel legends Bill and Gloria Gaither, and held in a high school gym in Feek's hometown of Alexandria, Indiana.

Her husband and music partner Rory Feek shared on his blog this weekend about the private service held for his wife last Tuesday.

Rory laid his wife to rest on their farm, under a grove of sassafras trees. Joey died March 4 after a two-year battle with cervical cancer.

Rory recently wrote on his blog that Joey is now in heaven singing for her Savior.
