Missionaries Ignore Ban during Olympics

Ad Feedback

China has threatened to crack down on evangelism during these Olympic games, but many foreign missionaries are ignoring the ban.

Some of those Christian groups include missionaries from the Southern Baptist Convention and Youth With A Mission.

Evangelism teams prepared for years for what Southern Baptists called a "spiritual harvest unlike any other."

Missionary Mark Taylor of Awaken Generation says 115 people from 12 countries gathered in Thailand for orientation before scattering throughout China. He says they "did see some conversions."

Christians entered China on tourist visas and said they were involved in sports or cultural activities, which China allows.
