A U.S. marine has been removed from duty for handing out Christian coins to Iraqis.
Sunni officials complained that coins were given to Iraqis at an entry checkpoint with scripture verses written in Arabic.
One side of the coin asks, "Where will you spend eternity?" On the back is the Bible verse John 3:16.
Sunnis objected to military officials, arguing that the troops were not there to do missionary work.
U.S. military policies prohibit troops "from proselytizing any religion, faith or practices."
They promised appropriate action if allegations against the marine are substantiated.
