Israel's President Shimon Peres is warning Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that an attack against Iran could provoke a wider war.
Peres told the London Sunday Times that military action won't solve the Iranian problem.
Olmert and other Israeli leaders believe Iran is developing its nuclear facilities for military purposes. They are promising to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Peres is the first senior politician to try to steer Olmert away from an attack. He believes international cooperation is needed to deal with Iran.
