French President Nicolas Sarkozy is warning the Iranians that Israel might attack them if they continue their nuclear program.

"Iran is taking a major risk in continuing its process of obtaining nuclear weapons, which we are certain is happening," he said.

Sarkozy spoke at a Middle East summit in Damascus.

He warned that an Israeli strike could lead to disastrous consequences and said Iran should allow full inspections of its nuclear program.
