Students on school campuses around the world gathered Wednesday morning for the annual "See You at the Pole" event.
Each year, groups meet around the flagpole to pray for their friends, family, the country and the world.
This year's theme was "Connect: Speak, For Your Servant is Listening," taken from 1 Samuel 3:10.
"I''ve noticed that some people are becoming more receptive," student Lindsey Roberson said. "It used to be you say 'see you at the pole' and five people would show up. Now it's seems like you say it and people are [thinking] 'I kind of know what that is. I'll think about it.' It's kind of cool. It's becoming a little bit better."
Millions of students in all 50 states and in more than 20 other countries took part in Wednesday's event.
