On this Good Friday, millions of Christians around the world are celebrating the passion of Jesus Christ.
Believers also marked the Holy Day in the Holy Land of Israel as hundreds filled Jerusalem's Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
"The observances of Good Friday include thousands of pilgrims walk down the Via de la Rosa," explained CBN News Mideast Bureau Chief Chris Mitchell. "They reenact the same walk that Jesus did 2000 years ago, when he was on his way to Golgatha to be crucified. So people from literally all over the world come here for Holy Week. Last Sunday on Palm Sunday, they re-enacted the walk that Jesus had one week before the crucifixion when he came into the city and the crowds shouted 'Hosanna' when he came in on the donkey and they threw palm branches before him."
"So this is a very holy week for thousands of Christian pilgrims who have come who will celebrate not only Good Friday, but Easter Sunday as well," Mitchell continued. "And there are observances throughout the city and particularly a lot of evangelical Christians look forward to the sunrise service at the garden tomb, which many people believe was actually where Jesus was buried and then Hallelujah many Christians say he rose again."
