The Pakistani military deployed six Frontier Constabulary platoons in northwestern Buner amid new concerns about the Taliban gaining ground in the country.
The parliamentary forces have been deployed to protect government buildings and bridges near the capital from the rising Taliban influence.
This came just days after a large number of terrorists from the neighboring Swat Valley entered the area and began creating checkpoints and patrolling roads.
The Pakistani government recently agreed to impose Sharia Law in Swat and surrounding areas in exchange for peace with insurgents.
Those who oppose the deal worry that it will give power to extremists to expand their influence into Afghanistan.
"I think the Pakistani government is basically abdicating to the Taliban and the extremists," U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said.
