Italy's government is trying to move the upcoming Group of 8 summit to the site of a recent deadly earthquake.
The G-8 was originally going to meet on the Italian island of Sardinia but the country's premier says moving the meetings would save money and give the devastated region an economic boost.
The change of venue to this quake stricken region depends on the approval of other participating G-8 countries.
A powerful quake centered in L'aquila on April 6 killed nearly 300 people and left more than 50,000 people homeless.
CBN's Operation Blessing is on the scene in the quake zone.
The aid organization is bringing food, water and relief supplies to hundreds of survivors still living in tent cities around the region.
Most of the children in the devastated area are afraid of the dark because the quake hit in the middle of the night.
So OB donated a generator-operated tower of lights to help calm their fears.
OB is also coordinating with Italian government officials to help with longer-term recovery efforts.
