International investor George Soros says it may not be a bad idea to replace the dollar as the reserve currency of the world.
Soros tells Reuters that a new so-called synthetic currency could come from the international monetary fund.

Soros says that having an international currency would impose financial discipline on the United States, so that it would not keep on spending beyond its means.
China recently offered a similar proposal for an international currency.
