In the U.S., the case of Christian teen Rifqa Bary has brought light recently to honor killings and the harsh rules of Islamic Sharia law.

Bary, 17, ran away from home after she says her parents threatened to kill her for leaving the Muslim faith.

In her book A God Who Hates, Wafa Sultan speaks out about such violent practices allowed under Shraia law,  especially in the treatment of women.
