Well, it's the end of an era.

Volkswagen says it will no longer make the Beetle.

The little car was once all the rage back in the 60s and has experienced a resurgence in the new millenium.

But VW says the bug will be no more.

They'll be making only 3,000 more:  half will be coupes, the other half will be convertibles, and then, it's all over.

The final edition beetles will go on sale in the spring.

They will all be a special light blue color to distinguish them as the last of their line.
