India's Supreme Court is telling authorities in Orissa that it will not tolerate persecution of religious minorities.
According to Religion News Service, one justice told an attorney for Orissa state officials, quote: "If your government is unable to protect Christians, you better resign."
He went on to say: 'We are a secular country, and no minority should feel insecure in our country.'
More than 100 Christians in Orissa have been killed and scores of churches destroyed by Hindu mobs since august.
