A new report says 13 million babies are aborted in China each year.
The Chinese government attributes it to a lack of sex education. According to Reuters, nearly two-thirds of Chinese women who have abortions are single, and between the ages of 20 and 29 years old.
The report also showed more single women are turning to abortion because they cannot get a government registration card for their baby. The registration would help them with health care and other public services.
