The only known survivor of Tuesday's Yemeni jet crash in the Indian Ocean is conscious and recovering in a hospital.

Fourteen-year-old Bahia Bakari's survival is being called a miracle.  She said she was ejected but found herself by the plane and didn't feel a thing.

Her family said she could barely swim, but held on for 13 hours with a fractured collar bone until rescuers found her.

The Airbus 310 crashed while attempting to land in high winds on the Comoros islands, killing 153.

Meanwhile, french officials now say the plane's black boxes have not been recovered.

A signal detected from the debris of plane was from a distress beacon and not one of the black boxes.
