The Chinese government has had a tough time stopping the violence in its northwest region.
Leaders have dispatched riot police, shut down the Internet, and imposed a strict curfew.
But tensions have remained high between the Muslim Uighur minority and local Han Chinese.
The Uighur population has been protesting, saying they are being marginalized in their homeland as more migrants move in.
At least 156 people have been killed in the violent clashes and more than a thousand wounded.
There have reportedly also been more than a thousand arrests.
