The CEO of Air France says flight 447 either broke apart in the air or when it slammed into the surface of the ocean.

That's according to a counselor who attended a meeting where the CEO spoke to families of the passengers.

The counselor says the CEO told the families he doesn't believe there are any survivors.

Military rescue planes hope to narrow the search zone today as ships head to the site to recover wreckage.
