Conservative parties scored victories in the European parliament election despite a record low turnout.
   
Right-leaning governments came out ahead in Germany, France, Italy and Belgium.

Dutch politician Geert Wilders also scored a big victory.
    
Wilders and his Freedom Party won four of the Netherlands' 25 seats in the European parliament.  He is one of the most outspoken opponents of what some call the Islamization of the Netherlands
