Across Africa, children are often accused of being witches, and many of them are subjected to horrific exorcisms at the hands of church pastors and leaders.
ABC News anchor Dan Harris traveled to the Democratic Republic of Congo to report on this practice.
He documented the abusive ceremonies for a special Nightline broadcast, which aired Thursday evening.
Some of the children are as young as six years old.
The parents pay the ministers to cast demons out of their children, but after the ceremonies, most of the children end up being banished from their homes, and living on the streets.
