The first of President Obama's surge troops have arrived in Afghanistan.
Obama is sending in 21,000 new U.S. forces to battle a resurgent Taliban.
That group of Islamic radicals is also gaining ground in neighboring Pakistan, moving closer to the capital.
But last night, the prime minister essentially declared war on the Taliban, vowing to "eliminate" militants who have been taking over entire towns.
The U.N. says about 1 million Pakistanis have fled their homes as the Taliban has swept in.
