It is now legal in Sweden to have an abortion if women are not happy with the gender of their unborn child.
Swedish health authorities say women should be allowed to have abortions for any reason up to the 18th week of pregnancy.
Swedish newspaper The Local reports the issue came up when a woman had two abortions when she found out she was pregnant with girls.
She already had two daughters.
The United States does not have a specific law that addresses gender-based abortion.
