The 15th annual Salon Du Chocolat fashion show opened in Paris Wednesday and will run through Oct. 16.
The runway models are featuring dresses and outerwear made of real chocolate by over 400 exhibitors.
Top designers and chocolatiers from Leonidas and Austrian crystal specialist Swarovski worked together to create the partly edible outfits for the five-day event.
"Chocolate has sold well and during the 1929 crisis it was the same," said Sylvie Douce, Commissioner General of Salon Du Chocolat. "Chocolate sellers increased sales. In fact, sales are inversely proportional to the economic crisis. The more people have stress and the more they are depressed, the more they buy chocolate."
