Human rights groups reported this week that at least 1,000 civilians have been killed in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Attacks against the people there have displaced more than 900,000.
A report from a coalition of rights groups charged hutu militia from neighboring Rwanda with several of the crimes-- including rape and murder.
Some Congolese government soldiers were also accused.
Woman are the target of many attacks. The report revealed 7,000 women and girls have been raped.
Jon Cassel of CBN Africa recently traveled to eastern Congo where he met up with the Dina Foundation, a ministry that is rescuing girls from the danger.
CBN's Orphan's Promise will partner the group to give the young women a better life.
