The United Nations passed a resolution Friday calling for inspections of atomic sites in Israel.

Arab nations who sponsored the resolution said they are concerned about "Israeli nuclear capabilities."

But Israeli official said they will not cooperate with the resolution, and Western states said Israel should not be singled out.

The U.S. and other backers of Israel lobbied for debate on the issue but were unsuccessful in getting a vote.
