Christian human rights activists are shining the spotlight on North Korea to bring attention to the country's human rights abuses.

The North Korea Freedom Coalition will host a series of events in Seoul, South Korea, to recognize North Korea Freedom Week, April 25-May 1.

North Korea's regime requires God-like loyalty to deceased leader Kim Il Sung and his son Kim Jong Il.

Christian worship in public or private can lead to prison and torture. Carrying a Bible or talking about Jesus can also mean death and punishment for three generations of one family.

Still, an estimated 400,000 Christians risk constant danger to follow Christ.

CBN News spoke with North Korea Freedom Coalition chairman Suzanne Scholte. She explained how crucial it is to host these events on the Korean peninsula.
