Brawl Breaks Out at Ukraine Parliament

Ad Feedback

There was a bizarre scene during a parliamentary vote in the Ukraine on Tuesday.

Lawmakers unhappy with the outcome started throwing eggs at the speaker, Volodymyr Lytvyn, who was forced to take cover under umbrellas.

Chaos erupted as the politicians started shoving and fighting in aisles. They also set off a smoke bomb.

The disagreement was over a vote to continue allowing the Russian navy to use one of their ports on the Black Sea.

A Russian official said the deal will strengthen the security of the two nations, but an opposition leader called it "a black page in the history of Ukraine's independence."
