Singing sensation Susan Boyle went from being a British reality TV show contestant to a world-renowned recording artist.
The 49-year-old Briton is getting ready to achieve yet another dream. Next month, Boyle will perform for Pope Benedict XVI at an open air mass during his visit to Britain. Boyle will sing several Gospel hymns and will be accompanied by an 800-member choir.
She became the world's sweetheart last year when she sang her rendition of the song "I Dreamed a Dream" on a British TV musical competition and stunned the judges, the studio audience and people around the world with her amazing vocals.
A devout Catholic, Boyle says singing for the pope will be another dream that has come true.
"It's something I've always wanted to do for a while," she explained. "It's been one of my biggest dreams. I'm very happy it's come true at last."
Boyle's debut CD was the biggest selling album in the world last year.
Internet videos of her performances have been viewed more than 100 million times by fans all over the world.
