The Dalai Lama said he was "very happy" after his meeting with President Obama. The two leaders met privately and also talked on issues ranging from religious freedom to a greater role for women around the world.
During the past 20 years, the Dalai Lama has meet with U.S. presidents. Most of the meetings have been private.
