Parts of the Central American country of Guatemala are suffering from extreme drought and famine.
The lack of rain has caused the locals' crops to fail in the country's so-called "dry corridor," leaving them with little to no food.
CBN's Operation Blessing has been working in the region since last fall to help these families.
So far, the aid organization has distributed more than 40,000 pounds of food to more than a thousand families.
Operation Blessing has also set up a community feeding program in one of the hardest hit villages. The children in the village used to find food at a local dump. However, with the famine, no one is throwing away scraps.
In response, Operation Blessing is providing more than a hundred of these little ones with three meals a day. The organization also provides them with school tutoring and an after school program.
