Former presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-AZ, says the U.S. needs to help the Iranian people on a daily basis in their struggle for freedom and democracy.
McCain was in Jerusalem on Sunday after leading a delegation of senators to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
He says the days are numbered for the current Iranian regime.
"The day a young woman named Neta bled to death in the streets of Tehran was the beginning of the end of the tyrannical regime of Iran which threatens peace in the world, the region and specifically to the state of Israel with their continued, unabated development of nuclear weapons," the Arizona senator said.
McCain says helping the Iranians does not mean military intervention.
