Orphans from Haiti are being brought to the U.S. Aid groups say tens of thousands of children have been orphaned.
Some of them had already been approved for adoption and the State Department is rushing to get visas for them.
A special team has been created to organize all of the information into one database.
This is not for new adoptions, but for adoptions that were already in progress before the earthquake hit.
Meanwhile, immigration officials also say Haitians living in the U.S. illegally will be allowed to apply to stay temporarily.
The Obama administration is allowing them 18 months of protected status, but they must fill out an application and find a job while earthquake recovery continues.
