Operation Blessing International recently helped some families in El Salvador get new homes.
Many houses in the community of St. Lucia are crudely constructed and offer little protection from bad weather.
"Living conditions for the community are very austere. There is no indoor plumbing or running water inside the homes," said Danny Hansen of Golden Acres Baptist Church in Phoenix City, Ala. "Some homes have electricity, but most do not."
As a result, Operation Blessing teamed up with the Golden Acres Baptist Church and A Roof For My Country ministry.
With these partners contributions, Operation Blessing had enough funding for volunteers to build sturdy, new wooden homes for three families in St. Lucia.
They have also been able to assist the community with setting up chicken farms and installing a water cistern.
