A Christian school in New Zealand that fired a coach because he was gay, has been ordered by a court to pay up and apologize.
School board members of Middleton Grange School in Christchurch on New Zealand's South Island will also have to attend courses on human rights awareness.
The 28-year-old was hired back in February to coach the Middleton Grange girls' netball team, but was let go when the board realized he was gay.
The principal said he offered the man his job back, but the coach had already found a new job with another Christchurch Christian school.
