Some Christians in Afghanistan have said they afraid for their lives and they have asked Christians around the world to remember them in their prayers.

Several members of the Afghan parliament have called for the death penalty for any Afghan who leaves Islam for Christianity.

They have been compiling a list of foreigners and locals who they believe should be questioned. Officials have also said 14 foreign non-governmental organizations should be investigated.

Eric Rassbach of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty told CBN News the U.S. sacrifice in Afghanistan isn't bringing about true democracy.

"It's kind of disturbing -- do you really call it democracy?," he said.

Rassbach also said the Obama administration hasn't been outspoken enough on the issue of religious freedom worldwide.
