Approximately 500,000 to 2 million children in the South American nation of Brazil have been forced into prostitution.
Now Operation Blessing International has reached out to children who are at risk for becoming prostitutes.
The aid organization has been working with 10 Brazilian schools through a program called Makanudos. The program teaches participants Bible lessons, values, goals and self-respect.
Operation Blessing has also invited teenagers to weekly Friday night "Urbano" parties, which offer mentoring, counseling and activities with other teens.
In April, 290 teens accepted Christ as their lord and savior. Also, in May, Operation Blessing took part in a march with nearly 8,000 youth and young adults. The annual event is part of an effort to fight child sex abuse.
