Villagers in Bangladesh are searching for survivors after powerful landslides killed at least 49 people.

The landslides hit early Tuesday morning, burying many alive inside their homes while they slept.

Locals are digging through mud and rocks searching for family members who might have survived.

Heavy rains continue and are slowing rescue efforts. Bangladesh officials also say the death toll is likely to rise.
