Operation Blessing International is helping some Haitian families get back on their feet after the devastating earthquake struck their island nation in January.
The charity aid organization has teamed up with the owner of a fish hatchery in the capital city of Port-au-Prince.
Valentin Abe directs a fish farming project that helps impoverished residents earn a healthy income. To date, 20 families have received a cage, young Tilapia fish, and the necessary training on how to raise them. After just four months, the fish can be sold in local markets, providing the family with an income.
Abe recently was named to Time Magazine's top 100 list of the most influential people in the world.
Operation Blessing plans to sponsor an additional 40 families who are in need.
