An attack on a passenger train in India has left 71 dead and nearly 200 injured.
Investigators believe Maoist rebels known as Nazalites are behind the overnight attack. The passenger train derailed and crashed into an oncoming cargo train.
It took rescuers more than three hours to reach the scene. Nearly 10 hours after the blast, at least a dozen passengers were still trapped in the mangled wreckage.
Indian officials are unsure what caused the train to derail, but some say explosives were used.
Attacks by the Naxalites have increased in India in recent months. The group called for a four-day general strike starting Friday.
Earlier this month, the rebels ambushed a bus in central India, killing 31 police officers and civilians.
