Torrential rains lasting more than a week have caused the worst flooding in southern China in almost half a century.
The floods have forced 213,000 people from their homes on the island of Hainan.
Many of the main roads were damaged after seven inches of rain fell in several cities this week.
Forecasters are expecting even more rain accompanied by strong winds on Friday.
Meanwhile, floods and landslides are also affecting much of Southeast Asia, including Indonesia and Vietnam.
