A bomb exploded at a military parade in Iran, Wednesday, killing 12 spectators and injuring 75 others.

One official blamed the attack on Kurdish separatists who've been fighting Iranian forces in the area for decades.

The attack took place in Mahabad, near the country's borders with Iraq and Turkey.

Provincial Governor Vahid Jalalzadeh said most of the victims were women and children. He called the attack a "terrorist incident" by "counterrevolutionaries."
